Sr. Planning Engineer

     Job Description:                                                                                                                                                                                              

    1. Creation of fabrication & painting schedule.
    2. Production Schedule Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and logistics to develop comprehensive production schedules that meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing downtime.
    3. Capacity Planning: Analyze production capacity constraints and work closely with manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for increasing throughput and efficiency. Utilize data-driven approaches to forecast capacity requirements and develop strategies for addressing bottlenecks.
    4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory and associated carrying costs. Implement inventory control measures to optimize inventory turnover and maintain optimal stock levels.
    5. Production Optimization: Continuously evaluate production processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implement other best practices to streamline operations, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.
    6. Production Coordination: Serve as a liaison between production, engineering, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication. Resolve production-related issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions and maintain production schedules.
    7. Performance Analysis: Analyze production performance metrics such as cycle time, yield, and equipment downtime to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement performance tracking mechanisms to monitor progress towards production goals.
    8. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes, optimize resource utilization, and improve overall operational effectiveness. Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process improvements and technology enhancements.
    9. Risk Management: Identify potential risks to production schedules and develop contingency plans to mitigate their impact. Proactively assess supply chain risks, production constraints, and external factors that may affect production operations.
    10. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, capacity plans, inventory levels, and performance metrics. Generate reports and presentations to communicate production status, performance trends, and improvement opportunities to management and stakeholders.
    11. Good knowledge of MS Office and proficiency in planning and scheduling software like MSP (Micro soft Project)or Primavera is required.

    1. Knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication Production planning.                                                                                                                                                                                                         

    2. Knowledge of ERP System.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

    3. Knowledge of Excel; MSP & Primavera.
